STORIES FROM THE SOUL
Invitation to Share Your Story on Stories From the Soul
I wanted to give you an overview of the podcast. It touches on two sides of a very similar coin.
Side number one:
Speaks to the diaspora community. For me, this is Zimbabwe, but diaspora in general—people living in a country, culture, or community that sometimes may not reflect their own. This side of the coin aims to speak to that group - especially the younger generation, who haven't grown up or been raised in their homeland—so aren’t familiar with seeing people who look, sound, and behave like them, in positions of influence and success, now they live in a “foreign” land.
It's an opportunity for them to hear stories about everyday people like them who have succeeded in their native country or overseas.
The other side of the coin:
...is talking about mental health, emotions, and conversations that aren’t typically freely spoken about in traditional families. Easy!
And that’s essentially the coin. That’s what I’m trying to do with Stories from the Soul.
So, the podcast is video but then translated into audio and put onto Apple, Substack, Spotify, and YouTube. It is also put onto Insight Timer and then cut into shorts for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
Typically, an episode is 30 to 40 minutes, but it is often about an hour of recording.
I typically identify and address four main areas in the discussion. I don’t do the CV background piece—those areas will come from our pre-podcast engagement.
So what happens next:
My trusty assistant, Joyce, will contact you on WhatsApp and send you a link to complete a simple questionnaire. Feel free to send a voice note and answer the questions, or, if you have the time, reply on the online form.
Then, we will schedule a call to record the podcast. Given my schedule, it will typically be in the evening or during the day on the weekend. So, find somewhere where you will not be disturbed, where there's good light, and wear something that you feel comfortable with the world seeing you in.
On the day, I'll send you an email or a WhatsApp link to Riverside, a platform where we'll record the Podcast.
Thank you so much for agreeing to this and being a part of this journey. I’m genuinely looking forward to this!
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Warm regards,
Tariro
